Reban Farms Homestead has been around since 1908 and we are proud of our Saskatchewan roots. We enjoy the cattle lifestyle and the wholesome food it allows us to produce. We are grateful to have a farm out by Petrofka Bridge along the North Saskatchewan River south of Blaine Lake.
ASK AUBREY – 2
Welcome to “Ask Aubrey,” a Q&A series with Aubrey Reban, cattle rancher and head of the Reban Farm family in Petrofka, Saskatchewan. Each post features one of the most common questions Aubrey is asked about ranching, farming practices, and cattle care. His goal is to give you a transparent, straightforward look into how Reban Farms raises its animals and cares for the land.
Do you feed GMO grain to your cattle?
The answer is no. Here’s why.
In Canada, the only GMO crops that are legal to produce are canola, soybeans, and corn. None of these crops are included in the Reban Farms beef program. Instead, we focus on growing and feeding our cattle with crops that are non-GMO and produced here on our farm.
It’s also important to note that GMO cereals such as wheat, barley, and oats don’t exist. These grains are naturally non-GMO, and they make up much of the balanced diet we provide for our cattle. By feeding grains that are both non-GMO and farm-grown, we maintain greater control over the quality of nutrition our cattle receive, and we ensure consistency from field to feed.

Our approach is simple: we raise cattle the way we’d want our own families to be fed—honestly, carefully, and with a focus on health and sustainability. Have a question about our farm, our cattle, or how we raise our beef? Send it our way and Aubrey may answer it in a future post.
At Reban Farms, we are your Trusted Saskatoon Beef Farmer and we believe in being open and transparent about how we care for our animals, our land, and the families we feed.
